The Sign up button is located at the top of the Mclowd™ home page.
The signup page (The signup page () requests that you enter your first and last name, email address and a password.
If you are looking to manage multiple funds, please click the SIGN UP AS A PARTNER link at the right of the green panel at the bottom of the window. This user manual provides guidance for individual SMSF managers.
Please refer to the Practitioner Version User Guide for instructions for Practitioner Users.
oPlease enter your real name (not the name of your fund).
oPlease enter and confirm your email address.
Choosing a Password
The password you choose should be at least six characters long and contain at least one letter and one number. Please choose a secure password that will be difficult for others to guess.
You will need to confirm both your email address and password. This is to avoid login problems resulting from typos when you signed up.
Your email and password will be stored in Mclowd™’s database as a ”key” to your fund records. Your records can only be accessed by logging into Mclowd™ with this information.
Mclowd™ provides a secure reminder service in case you ever forget your password.
A further level of security is optionally available. Multi-factor authentication (known as MFA or two-step verification) is an advanced security feature that adds an extra layer of protection to your account.
After you’ve turned it on, Mclowd™ will ask you to enter an additional security code when you sign in. This means that even if someone has managed to acquire your username and password, they still can’t get into your Mclowd™ Account without the separate one-time code.
You can order MFA security from the Mclowd™ Account area (accessed from the Setup Menu) once you have created your account and logged in.
Fund Details
Mclowd™ needs some information about your SMSF Fund in order to create your account. When you click GET STARTED, it will display the Fund Details screen.
➢ Please enter the legal name of your Fund.
➢ Enter the ABN and Tax File number for your fund.
➢ Select the Financial Year that you want to be the Migration Year (the first financial year for which you wish to record data using Mclowd™.)
➢ Use the Calendar Popup to select the date on which this Fund was formed. (You should be able to find the formation date on your Fund’s Trust Deed.)
➢ Mclowd™ wants to know about the Trustee of your Fund. Does it have a Corporate Trustee, or are members of the Fund the Trustees?
➢ If your fund has a Corporate Trustee, check the Corporate Trustee option. The display will change to add the following fields to the form.
You will need to enter the name of the Corporate Trustee and its Australian Company Number (ACN)
You can alter the Trustee information at any time by returning to the Fund Setup. You can change from ”All Members as Trustees” to a ”Corporate Trustee” or vice versa, or change the name and ACN of the corporate trustee.
If you select ”All Members as Trustees”, Mclowd™ will create the first Fund Member – the Trustee setting up the Fund – during this process. When you reach the stage in FUND SETUP of creating Member records, this Member will already have been created for you, but you will need to complete entry of all their details.
Once a member has been created, Mclowd™ will continually remind you, via a popup dialog, to complete entry of critical information about this member
Data Security
Mclowd™ will store all your fund financial data on its secure server in the cloud. That means you can access it from any internet-connected computer, at any time. Mclowd™ technical staff diligently manage security and backups to ensure your data is protected to the greatest extent reasonably possible. Should you become aware of any security risk, and particularly of any unauthorized access to your fund, please contact mailto:support@Mclowd™.com immediately.
Completing the Signup process
Please check the box indicating that you agree to Mclowd™’s Terms of Service (shown at https://www.Mclowd™.com/terms-service/) and accessible by clicking the Terms of Service link.
Click the GET STARTED button now, and you can start to set up your Fund.
